Home - day 24

So„, 24 days, 12,900 miles, 20 states & 15 shows later…here I am back home in MD. It was great to walk into the house for that familiar smell, welcomed by my dad & peeking in to see my sleeping baby brother. I was actually surprised how clean i left everything, haha. The tour was really really great & verrry necessary. It was exhausting yet energizing, sucky at times yet amazing at times. The people I met and the places I got to see are totally invaluable. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. The flight home today was rather long, but I made use of the time with some good reflecting, reading & planning. I also went on this tour as a bit of a soul searching venture, & I was able to figure a few things out in my life. We’ll see how they unfold over the rest of the year. Time to fall asleep in my own bed for the first time in over 3 weeks. I may still post a final recap & extra pictures as they surface. Thank you for following along ! Goodnight, Tour life :)

So here I am again, at the Jupiter hotel in Portland, the awesome vintage themed hotel we stayed in before we set out 2ish weeks ago. The last remaining hours of the drive here were extremely brutal, but it was pretty along the Columbia river this morning, with Mt Rainier & Mt Hood on both sides. My flight isn’t till 11am tomorrow, so I’m about to mozy around town to get dinner & drinks with some friends. The sun just set, and the temperature is perfect. Goodnight, Tour life

The Journey Home part 2 - day 22

It’s about 2am mountain time, I think. I just woke up in the back bench & we’re in the middle of nowhere Idaho. Chris took over after Denny’s dinner (I know, ew), & I remember falling asleep with the moonlight in my face, still in Montana. The sunset in Montana was awesome, over a mountain lined horizon. There’s something peaceful & nostalgic to me about gazing at the moon while riding in this van, not sure why. Today’s driving wasn’t half as bad as yesterday’s. Probably due to the fact that I had little to no sleep the night before in Chicago„,but the sunrise over lake Michigan was totally worth it. I guess the drive was easy today too because I had Eric to bullshit with as co pilot. As I said before, it’s been an honor & very awe inspiring being in close quarters with someone I’ve looked up to musically for over 10 years. Our Eta to Portland is no later than noon tomorrow, & I’ll have a hotel to clean up and relax till my flight @ 11am on Thursday. Now, more moonlit sleep, goodnight.

The Journey Home part 1 - day 21

Somewhere near Fargo ND, left Chicago at 1pm today. I didn’t sleep last night, ended up walking to the navy pier to watch the sun come up, it was a good pleasant transition, and inside I realized that some hard work was about to come. I stopped in a breakfast shop called Yolk & had some excellent eggs benedict for the 2nd time in my life. After a brief nap & some more Chicago pizza for lunch from Ginos, the journey home began, and the hard work started. This drive has been brutal so far, and we’re only 680 miles into the total 2100, I guess it doesn’t help how sleep deprived I am. I just had a bogus nightmare with insain people in it & demons, the road bug has set in„, I just keep visualizing my purple pillow case on my bed, hugging my baby brother, and sharing tour stories with my loved ones back home. We’re heading into a bogus lightning storm that has been on the horizon for an hour, it’s raining frogs, and the night is still young.
